Yoga has been a part of my life now for decades, starting with sweaty, fitness-oriented power yoga classes after college. These days, I still look to yoga to build strength, but I also crave classes that offer a space where I can slow it all down. Between motherhood, marriage, a full-time career, freelancing, and attempting to nurture the many other relationship in my life, things can get pretty hectic at times. And, while I have found a wonderful studio community here in Boston whose teachers I adore, getting myself there in the evenings can be tough. In those moments, doing a quick practice at home seems like it should be easy, but it can be equally hard to motivate when you have to do it all yourself, versus just showing up somewhere and letting a great teacher take the lead. Recently though, I have finally managed to get into a good routine at home, and I suddenly can't get enough. For me, the key was finding the right online yoga studio, where I can trust the teachers and styles to guide me through a practice that really meets my needs. I've also picked up a few other strategies to keep me coming back to my mat, so I thought I would share them here.
